Inmate Residence Confirmation
Before booking, please visit the State of Maryland Department of Public Safety Inmate Locator to confirm that your loved one is at the correct facility, as well as to obtain their SID or DOC number. Eastern Shore Transportation LLC and Maryland Public Safety cannot be held responsible for passengers selecting the incorrect facility. It’s essential to remember your loved one’s SID and/or DOC number, as these identification numbers are crucial throughout the process when a family member is incarcerated and must be provided during every interaction.
Choose Which Type of Visit!
- An Incarcerated Individual is allowed two (2) in-person visits per week (during each Friday-Monday cycle). An incarcerated individual may not receive two visits on the same day.
- Regular visitation follows the odd/even system (i.e. an incarcerated individual is able to receive visits on odd-numbered dates if his/her DOC ID number ends in an odd number) and even numbers are even dates. An incarcerated individual will be permitted a maximum of three (3) visitors per visit, including infants and children.
- Virtual Visits- Does not require transportation!
Book Seats!
Journey to each correctional facility: Dorsey Run, ECI - Eastern Shore, MCI Jessup Institute and Women Institute, MCI - Hagerstown, Patuxent, Roxbury, and Western Correctional Institute! Reserve your seat from your selected departure locations! Visits are permitted on an odd/even schedule based on the last digit of the Incarcerated Individual’s DOC number. Those persons with a DOC number ending in an even digit (0, 2, 4, 6, 8) may receive visits on even numbered dates. Those persons with a DOC number ending in an odd digit (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) may receive visits on odd numbered days. There are no visits on the 31st day of any month.
Accommodations
Make the most of your visit while the driver pauses for the round-trip journey back to the designated pick-up locations. For long-distance correctional facility visits, including ECI, NBCI, and any location over an hour's drive, we will arrange a food stop. Booster seats and car seats are available upon request for a booking fee.
Why We Provide This Service
I choose to engage in the opportunity to help families maintain connections with their incarcerated loved ones. My own personal experiences have motivated me, giving me insight from both perspectives—inside and outside. I have come to understand the significance of personal connections, which far outweigh the value of letters or expensive phone calls. This connection benefits not only the visiting family members but also those who are incarcerated. Several of my relatives, all of whom were housed in Maryland Department of Correctional facilities, conveyed to me over the phone, "How can I learn to do the right thing, or even know what that means, when there are no people from the outside to check on me or show me love? It hurts. I know I made mistakes, but I aspire for better. I just need people to model that for me. Prison is my only reality; it's all I'm surrounded by." This realization highlighted the necessity for an external community resource to bridge the gap between the incarcerated and the outside world, thereby reducing recidivism rates by enabling families to collaborate, devise solutions, and create plans for when their loved ones return to the community. Many inmates believe their loved ones opt not to visit, leading to feelings of abandonment over time. However, that's not always true. Prisons are often located far from urban centers and residential communities, situated in rural areas that pose transportation challenges. Partnering with Eastern Shore Transportation LLC. to establish a service that offers hope was an invaluable decision. Now, those who are innocent can receive support while fighting for justice, and those taking accountability with the intent to reintegrate into society can maintain positive human connections that will aid their successful transition back into the community.
